Joeanna-Margaret Kelly (otherwise known as "Joe") concentrates her practice in Family Law and Criminal Defense.

Joe was born in Wilmington, North Carolina and grew up in Carthage, North Carolina. She attended Campbell University in Buies Creek, North Carolina where she majored in Political Science with a concentration in Pre-Law. During her time at Campbell University, Joe served as a peer tutor in United States History, ran the Public Affairs Club social media pages, wrote film reviews for the Campbell Chapter of the Odyssey Online, did Pilates, and played intramural soccer and basketball.

Joe graduated magna cum laude from Campbell University in 2018 and continued her academic career at Campbell School of Law later that same year.

During law school, Joe focused on getting as much practical experience as possible by serving her community. In doing so, she participated in the Restorative Justice Clinic, the Death Row Visitation Project, and the Blanchard Community Law Clinic. Each of these clinics allowed her to see different perspectives within the criminal justice realm, while doing so outside of mere legal theory.

During her final year of law school, Joe participated in a yearlong internship with the Wake County Public Defender's gaining valuable, hands-on experience with clients facing enormous legal difficulty. In addition to participating in these clinics, Joe also had the opportunity to study abroad during the summer of 2019 at Sidney Sussex College in Cambridge, England. While in Cambridge, Joe studied the English legal system, the law of the European Union, and Shakespeare's influence on trial advocacy. This trip was very fulfilling for her, as she was able to physically trace the roots of our laws all the way back to ancestral roots in England.
